What Day is God’s Sabbath?

Paul is instructing the Church at Colossae of the Blotting out of ordinances that were done away with in the Torah that were shadows of Christ (Yeshua). Yeshua is here in person and the Church needed no more shadows. First Yeshua wear two hats, the king of kings and also He is our high Priest. Genesis 49: 10The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be. . . . Shiloh (Yeshua) is here. Hebrews 3: 1Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus; (Yeshua) . . . It is Yeshua and His ekklesia (church) that decides what holyday, new moon and Sabbath days we should observe. The Church consist of G1577 ἐκκλησία ekklēsia ek-klay-see'-ah
From a compound of G1537 and a derivative of G2564; a calling out, that is, (concretely) a popular meeting, especially a religious congregation (Jewish synagogue, or Christian community of members on earth or saints in heaven or both):—assembly, church. . . . The Church in,( Mathew 16: 18And I sayG3004 alsoG1161 unto thee, That thou artG1488 PeterG4074, and upon thisG5026 rockG4073 I will buildG3618 my churchG1577; and the gatesG4439 of hellG86 shall not prevailG2729 againstG2729 it.) . . . . Was made up of Messianic Jews, (Messianic mean Jews like the twelve Apostles that believe on and in Yeshua or Jesus Christ). After Christ the Messiah ascended to heaven, ten days later Act 2:1 the day of Pentecost the Christian Community was add to the Jewish Synagogue to establish the beginning of the Kingdom Of God On Earth, better known as The Nation “The Israel of God”. 1 Peter 2:9, Galatians 6:16.
Colossians 2:13And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; 14Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; 15And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
16Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of a holyday, or of the new moon, or of the Sabbath days: 17Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body (is) of Christ. (Notice the (is) is italics meaning it is not in the original script) . . . It is Christ who tell us what holyday, New moon and Sabbath days to observe: 18Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, 19And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God. . . . I have spent much of this article establishing the Head of the “Church” 20Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances, 21(Touch not; taste not; handle not; 22Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men? 23Which things have indeed a show of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honor to the satisfying of the flesh.

Is the Sabbath a part of the New Covenant
Old Covenant
. We must find the difference between the two Covenants, the old and the new, so that you cannot make a mistake about the Sabbath that comes with the Ten Commandments.
God Promised a Covenant to Abraham Genesis 17: 4As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations. 5Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee. 6And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee.
7And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.
God came down on Mount Sinai and codified and confirmed that covenant with Jacob whose Name change to Israel and Israel became a nation, in Exodus 19: 5Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine: 6And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.
What was that covenant? Exodus20:1 – 17, Deuteronomy 4: 13And he declared unto you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, even Ten Commandments; and he wrote them upon two tables of stone. Notice how Moses separated the covenant from what he wrote in the book, verse: 14And the LORD commanded me at that time to teach you statutes and judgments, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go over to possess it. . . . This became known as the Old Covenant.

New Covenant

The "seed" (Christ) is now here, being baptize of John, tempted by Satan, and Called His disciples, go up into a mountain and teach His disciples the New Covenant. Malachi 3:1Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts. Yeshua is the messenger of the New Covenant. He established the New Covenant as the preamble of His ekklesia the new nation of the Kingdom of the invisible Heaven on earth. The Greek word ekklesia means callout ones, to become citizens of the nation of “The Kingdom of God.” 1 Peter 2: 9But ye are a chosenG1588 generationG1085, a royalG934 priesthoodG2406, an holyG40 nationG1484, a peculiarG1519-G4047 peopleG2992; that ye should showG1804 forthG1804 the praisesG703 of him who hath calledG2564 you out of darknessG4655 intoG1519 his marvellousG2298 lightG5457: . . .The Greek word for nation is ethnos. . . . And Peter calls it a Holy Nation as I have established in the beginning of the article.
Let’s get to the Sabbath. Mathew 5: 17Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. . . . From the Greek word G4137. pleroo, play ro' o; from G4134; to make replete, i.e. (lit.) to cram (a net), level up (a hollow), or (fig.) to furnish (or imbue, diffuse, influence), satisfy, execute (an office), finish (a period or task), verify (or coincide with a prediction), etc.: accomplish, X after, (be) complete, end, expire, fill (up), fulfill, (be, make) full (come), fully preach, perfect, supply. (CD Strong’s) . . .
To fulfill or satisfy and execute the Torah including Ten Commandments, which the Sabbath is a part. See Mathew 19:16 – 20 Jesus said keep the Commandments. Mathew 12:1 – 9 Jesus is Lord or master of the Sabbath. Mark 1:21 Christ kept the Sabbath. Mark 2:23 -28 The Sabbath was made for man, it is his rest day of which Christ is Lord of the Sabbath. Luke 4: 16And he (JESUS) came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up for to read. . . . It was His custom to keep the Sabbath verse 16 – 22. It was Paul’s manner to witness to the Jews Acts 17:: 2And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three Sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures, . . . The Sabbath is mentioned 116 times in the KJV scriptures; 55 of them is in the New Testament. Would not you say that the Sabbath play a prominent role in the New Covenant.
Before He gave Moses those two tables of stone He made sure that Moses understood what day was the Sabbath, and what to be done with it. Note it is not one day in seven, it is not everyday in the week, and it is not when you want to keep it. "It follows the sixth working day; it is the seventh day, as it was written in Ex 20:8. Hermeneutically and exegetically, each is a 24 hr. period.
Ex 20:8) Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Hermeneutically: a 24 hr. period to be kept separate from the other six and for another purpose.
Ex 20:9) Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work: ...24 hr. periods
Ex 20:10) but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the "LORD thy God:” (mine) in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, or thy son, or thy daughter, thy manservant, or thy maidservant, or thy cattle, or thy stranger that is within thy gates:
The Sabbath is God's personal day and man's rest day. Here we are talking about the way God count time for himself, and God's equivalent time for man, God's time one thousand years is a day, and man' time 24 hrs is a day.
2 Pet 3:8) But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
Genesis 2:1-3) Six days of creation week have not passed if 2 Peter 3:8 is right. It has been 5768, years according to Jewish reckoning since Creation week began. God gave the Jews the job of preserving the Hebrew record. If God does not count time as one thousand years as a day then Genesis 2: 16 is wrong. God lied and the scripture say God cannot lie. Titus 2:2
Titus 2:2) In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;

Hebrews 6:18
18) That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:
Gen 2:16) And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: 17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
Adam lived 930 years Genesis 5: 5
5) And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died.
In order for that statement to be true God has to count time as one thousand years as a day. God was speaking to Adam the person that would die not just his Spirit. Then we are still living in the beginning, and God is still working, and will be till the seventh thousand years. John 5: 17But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work...
As I have stated in my book from Genesis 1:1 to Rev 22:21, this is the time of the beginning. Rev 22:21, is the end of the beginning. The question is “what day is God’s Sabbath?
Genesis 2: 2And on the seventhH7637 dayH3117 GodH430 endedH3615 his workH4399 whichH834 he had madeH6213; and he restedH7673 on the seventhH7637 dayH3117 from allH3605 his workH4399 whichH834 he had madeH6213. . . . Please note God’s rest day is the same as the seventh day. The day he rested is the same day He blessed and sanctified or set apart because He rested. 3And GodH430 blessedH1288 the seventhH7637 dayH3117, and sanctifiedH6942 it: becauseH3588 that in it he had restedH7673 from allH3605 his workH4399 whichH834 GodH430 createdH1254 and madeH6213. . . . All the work He was doing those six days before was creation week. It can not get any planer the Seventh day Sabbath is God’s Sabbath that He set apart in the Genesis account.

The Sabbath as God’s Tool
A Test Command

From Genesis 2:3, to Exodus 12:1 God (Elohim) used His own calendar to deal with the Nations. When Israel went into captivity in Egypt they lost their account of time. Exodus 12: 1And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying, 2This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you. . . . God is about to make them a Nation. They needed a calendar to tell time. God was about to send the death angel through Egypt, in order to save Israel He had to be time specific to the hour, so He established the Passover. They journeyed out of Egypt and began to mummer and God used the Sabbath to prove them to see if they would keep His law. Exodus 16: 4Then said the LORD unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no. 23And he said unto them, This is that which the LORD hath said, To morrow is the rest of the holy Sabbath unto the LORD: bake that which ye will bake to day, and seethe that ye will seethe; and that which remaineth over lay up for you to be kept until the morning. 24And they laid it up till the morning, as Moses bade: and it did not stink, neither was there any worm therein. 25And Moses said, eat that to day; for to day is a Sabbath unto the LORD: to day ye shall not find it in the field. 26Six days ye shall gather it; but on the seventh day, which is the Sabbath, in it there shall be none. 27And it came to pass, that there went out some of the people on the seventh day for to gather, and they found none. 28And the LORD said unto Moses, How long refuse ye to keep my commandments and my laws? 29See, for that the LORD hath given you the Sabbath, therefore he giveth you on the sixth day the bread of two days; abide ye every man in his place, let no man go out of his place on the seventh day. Here we see God using the Sabbath as a Test Command. In Exodus 20:8 the Sabbath as a memorial

The Sabbath as a Memorial

Exodus 20: 8Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work: 10But the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:. . God established the Sabbath to be remembered, and note whose Sabbath it is!!! Ex 20: 9Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work: 10But the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: Why did God give Israel the seventh day Sabbath, Verse: 11For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it. Note the reference is back to Creation Genesis 2: It is a memorial of God’s handy creation work, where He rested from His creative work, and as He muse over His work He saw that it was good. The next use of the Sabbath is it identifies Himself to Israel and the World.

The Sabbath Is an Identifying Sign

Exodus 31: 13Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my Sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the LORD that doth sanctify you. This is Why Israel keep the Sabbath on the seventh day to this day. They always knew Elohim but were blinded to Yeshua till the time of the Gentiles is completed. Verse: 14Ye shall keep the Sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people. 15Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the Sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD: whosoever doeth any work in the Sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death. 16Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, to observe the Sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant. 17It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed. 18And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon Mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God.
Isaiah’s Prophesy that Israel was blinded: John 12: 38That the saying of Esaias the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report? And to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed? 39Therefore they could not believe, because that Esaias said again, 40He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them. 41These things said Esaias, when he saw his glory, and spake of him.
42Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue: 43For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God. In Romans the apostle Paul explain chapter 11: 7What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded 8(According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day. 2 Corinthians 3: 14But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same veil untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which veil is done away in Christ. 15But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the veil is upon their heart. 16Nevertheless when it (the veil is taken they) shall turn to the Lord, the veil shall be taken away.
Once the blindness is taken away all Israel will be saved. They will recognize Yeshua when He come and sit on the throne of His father David. They will recognize the sign of Yeshua’s disciples and His command John 13: 34A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. 35By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. It is the sign of Yeshua and His disciples.
